Kindly ensure all required documentation is completed as detailed below:

Traveler Declaration: Complete the electronic Embarkation/Disembarkation card for the Maldives at https://travel.immigration.gov.mv/.
Passport: It is essential for all guests to possess a passport valid for at least six months beyond the arrival date.
Visa: Upon arrival at Maldives International Airport, travelers of all nationalities receive a complimentary 30-day tourist visa. Please have a return/onward flight ticket as proof.

Passengers with individual bookings arriving in the Maldives must land on the day of the cruise's commencement before 11am, the latest check-in time, to ensure same-day departure. A uniformed crew member will greet you at the international airport's exit, displaying a sign with the ship's name (Sea Rose 2 or Iruvai) or Submaldives.

Upon arrival, you'll have the opportunity to purchase an internet SIM card for your mobile phone (ensuring it's unlocked), with activation essential for proper functionality. Alternatively, eSIMs can be purchased online or through specific apps if your phone is unlocked and compatible, avoiding queues at the airport's operator shop.

All passengers will be transported to the cruise via dhoni (a typical Maldivian boat) by 11:00 am. Onboard, the welcome briefing will cover government fees, diving equipment rental, and any additional supplements, with qualifications and diving insurance reviewed by the boat guide.

Room distribution and meal service will commence around 1:00 pm, with weather and navigation permitting the possibility of the first dive on the same day of arrival. Depending on weather conditions and cruise logistics, 2-3 dives may be scheduled daily.

On the final morning, passengers will enjoy a continental breakfast before departing for Velana International Airport, Male, around 8:30 a.m., with an estimated arrival at the airport by 9:00 a.m. If there's an earlier flight, a suitable pre-transfer will be arranged accordingly.
For passengers with afternoon or evening flights, optional airport lockers are available for luggage storage, with pricing details obtained directly from the airport. Alternatively, passengers may consider booking one of the hotel packages available at the airport, offering amenities such as luggage storage, access to swimming pools, and internet access, starting from approximately €90 (prices to be confirmed directly with the hotel).

For a fulfilling diving experience in the Maldives, we suggest the following essential diving equipment:

Lightweight gear including a mask, fins, and snorkel.
Complete regulator set with two second stages and a pressure gauge.
Buoyancy control device (BCD).
Wetsuit suitable for the water temperature.
Dive light for enhanced visibility.
It's imperative to note that all divers must have a dive computer and a safety buoy, along with the necessary proficiency in using them. Standard scuba tanks onboard are 12L aluminum, but if you require a 15L bottle, please pre-order it in advance, with an additional fee applicable. These bottles are compatible with both the DIN regulator system and the international system.

While we do offer rental equipment onboard, our inventory may be limited compared to traditional dive centers. Therefore, we strongly advise communicating your equipment needs well in advance to ensure availability upon your arrival.

Lastly, we emphasize the importance of each diver having their own dive computer and safety buoy, as well as being familiar with proper buoy launching techniques prior to embarking on your diving adventure.

The sequence of dive sites may vary. Our captain will navigate you safely to your dive destinations, taking weather conditions into account.
Please note: While we provide a tour description as a suggestion, actual dive sites visited are subject to various factors, such as wind and weather conditions.

The ocean water temperature in the Maldives remains consistently between 27ºC and 30ºC throughout the year. Given that many passengers engage in up to 3 dives daily, it's crucial to take appropriate measures to protect oneself. We recommend wearing a 3mm wetsuit year-round, or a 5mm wetsuit if you tend to feel colder.
All dives are conducted from a dinghy known as a dhoni. It's important to note that all diving equipment will be stored on the dhoni, which may not always be easily accessible from the main boat. This consideration should be kept in mind when determining essential diving equipment.
The majority of dives exceed depths of 12m, and occasionally, currents are sought out to observe specific marine fauna. As a result, those with junior open water certification may encounter limitations and may not be able to participate in all dives.

Please ensure you have your scuba certification with you. Prior to the first dive, the divemaster will need to verify all your diving documentation, including your diving level certificate, Nitrox qualification, and dive insurance.
For those without a Nitrox qualification who plan to join one of our enriched air cargo safaris, you may inquire about the opportunity to complete the course onboard. This will enable you to utilize Nitrox throughout the duration of your journey.

It is highly advisable for all passengers to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, accidents, baggage loss, and trip cancellation or interruption at the time of booking. Travel insurance offers protection against financial losses in situations such as inability to embark on the planned journey due to personal health issues, illness of a family member, or unexpected circumstances leading to trip cancellation by the airline or maritime company.

Nitrox is accessible on both the Iruvai and Sea Rose 2 vessels. Kindly verify availability with your agency or Submaldives.

At Submaldives, we prioritize environmental stewardship, partnering with organizations like Babor, Parley, and We Are Water who share our commitment. We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to basic sustainability principles during your visits to the Maldives and beyond.
In the Maldives, waste management poses challenges, so we urge minimal waste generation:
Carry a reusable water bottle for refills.
Opt for compostable Nespresso-compatible coffee pods.
Choose sunscreen with physical filters, avoiding nanoparticles or titanium dioxide.
Bring solid toiletries such as soaps, shampoos, deodorants, and toothpaste.
Consider eco-friendly feminine hygiene products like menstrual cups or panties.
Embrace sustainable dental care with bamboo toothbrushes and compostable dental floss.
Use solid, environmentally friendly shower products free from nanoparticles and artificial additives.

Play your part in environmental conservation by adopting responsible diving practices. Control your buoyancy and finning to prevent damage to the seabed, refrain from touching marine life, and avoid stressing animals.
Respect the ocean and shoreline by refraining from collecting or purchasing souvenirs made from coral or animals, and refrain from littering. Be mindful of items left on deck to prevent them from being blown into the sea.
Participate in waste collection efforts both in and out of the water, using a net bag during dives if possible, as part of our collaboration with Parley.
Conserve resources by using the Muslim shower to reduce toilet paper usage and adjusting water consumption to minimize energy consumption from desalination. Additionally, minimize food waste by serving yourself only what you intend to consume, with the option to refill as needed

Properly segregate waste to facilitate recycling.
Embrace reuse whenever feasible to minimize waste.
Opt for bulk purchases and carry reusable bags, containers, and Tupperware.
Stick to eco-friendly personal care products like solid soaps, shampoos, and toothpaste, along with bamboo earbuds and toothbrushes.
Avoid cosmetics containing microbeads and products derived from shark squalene, opting for plant-based alternatives.
Decline promotional samples and single-use items in hospitality settings.
Swap wet wipes for a more sustainable alternative like a Muslim shower.
Minimize polyester clothing purchases.
Prioritize seasonal and locally sourced goods to reduce carbon footprint.
Be mindful of consuming overexploited fish species like tuna and shark.
Opt for train travel over planes and collective transport over individual vehicles whenever feasible.
Practice conscious consumption by buying less and considering the environmental impact of purchases.
Embrace circular economy principles by repairing items, buying second-hand, and selling or donating items no longer in use.

In line with customary practices observed in many holiday destinations, guests often express appreciation for excellent service by providing additional monetary gratuity. Typically, an amount of 50 Euros per guest is customary, though the final decision regarding the gratuity amount rests with you. Should you be satisfied with the service provided by our dive guides, you may also consider leaving a gratuity for them in the provided envelope.

Onboard Wi-Fi is not available. However, for those needing to stay connected during the cruise, purchasing a local SIM card is an option. These SIM cards are suitable for jailbroken phones, iPads, or tablets. If your phone is not unlocked, a modem is available onboard where you can insert the purchased SIM card.
Local SIM cards offer various recharge options and data packages based on usage. Approximately, a 2GB package costs between €15 to €20 and can be shared among multiple users. Ooredoo and Dhiraagu are the two telecommunications companies operating in the Maldives, both with offices at the airport for convenient paperwork processing upon arrival. Please note, this service is only for unlocked mobile devices.
It's essential to ensure activation of the SIM card at the store, as the procedure may vary depending on the phone brand. Rest assured, you'll leave the store with your data connection up and running.

Onboard, payments can be made in euros or their equivalent in US dollars. Similarly, gift shops and tourist bars accept euros or dollars, eliminating the need for local currency exchange upon arrival.
It's advisable to carry cash for government fees, crew tips, onboard bar drinks, souvenir purchases, and other expenses. While card payments are common in Male, they may not be as readily accepted elsewhere in the country.
Note that only banknotes issued after 2009 are accepted in the Maldives; old dollars are no longer valid.

If you encounter any issues, defects, or inconveniences, please promptly inform your dive guide. Addressing the matter immediately allows for timely assistance. Please refrain from waiting until the safari's conclusion. Upon safari completion, you'll receive a guest report where you can share your impressions or provide suggestions for our office.

Situated in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India, the Maldives is an island nation comprising 1,196 islands, with 203 inhabited. These islands are organized into 26 atolls, each named after one or two letters of the Thaana script. Malé serves as the capital and largest city.
The country experiences a tropical and humid climate, influenced by monsoons. Islam, introduced in 1153, is the predominant religion. With its small population, the Maldives holds the distinction of being Asia's least populous and one of the world's smallest countries, with an average elevation of just 2.3 meters, making it the lowest country in the world.
Traditionally reliant on fishing, tourism has emerged as the primary driver of the Maldivian economy in recent decades. The nation's success in tourism is attributed to its vibrant waters and abundant marine life, coupled with an ecologically sustainable management approach that respects local customs.
Dhivehi is the native language, and the Rufiyaa, or Maldivian Rupee (Rf), serves as the currency.

Electricity follows European standards (230V) with 3-pin UK plugs. Adapters and 2-pin European power strips are available onboard.
For multiple devices, consider bringing your own power strip.
Maldives' phone and mobile network coverage is limited. The country code is +960 or 00960. Data coverage exists in dive areas but varies in quality. Opting for a local SIM card is recommended for reliable connectivity. More details on Wi-Fi are provided in the following section.

For day visits to local islands or Male city, given the Maldives' status as a Muslim country, we advise comfortable summer attire, with particular attention to covering shoulders and cleavage for women.

Onboard, each passenger will be provided with two sets of towels (for showering and diving/beach/pool use), eliminating the need to bring your own towel.

It's recommended to pack essential toiletries such as personal gel and shampoo (depending on the boat's provisions), after-sun cream, and any other required lotions. Please note that opportunities to purchase personal hygiene items in the Maldives are limited, with the airport pharmacy upon arrival being the primary option

Indulge in our buffet-style dining experience, featuring a mix of local and international flavors to tantalize your taste buds. While traditional local cuisine adds a spicy twist, we cater to all dietary preferences and allergies with advance notice.
Complimentary water, tea, and coffee are provided, while other beverages like soft drinks, fresh juices, and alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. Please remember, alcoholic beverages cannot be imported due to Maldivian regulations.
For special occasions, such as birthdays, we can arrange a cake with prior notification. However, it's important to note that diving after consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
Your safety is our priority, so please adhere to our policies for a memorable and secure diving experience.

The boats are equipped with first aid kits containing oxygen for emergencies. If you're prone to motion sickness, consider bringing medication. Consult your doctor for options like scopolamine patches, Biodramine, Scopace, or Stugeron.
Boat movements may occur due to currents and winds. Prior to your trip, it's wise to undergo a medical check-up. Please note that crew members cannot store passengers' medication, especially if refrigeration is needed. Passengers with temperature-sensitive medication should bring their own cooler or cold gel packs.
We advise bringing sunscreen, mosquito repellent (for excursions on local islands), and basic medicines in your personal first aid kit. Be cautious with coral wounds, as they can become infected. After dives or snorkeling, rinse your ears with fresh water to prevent irritation. Additionally, there are 3 hyperbaric chambers available in the Maldives for emergencies.

Whether it's an anniversary, birthday, honeymoon, wedding, or marking your 100th dive, we'd love to celebrate with you. Kindly inform your travel agent or Submaldives before your departure, allowing us to give the crew advance notice for a memorable celebration.
